Book My Official (BMO) is a sports booking platform that connects teams, coaches, and organizations with qualified referees and officials. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number
- Profile information: sport(s), location (city/state/ZIP), bio, certifications, profile photo
- Precise location data: latitude/longitude for distance-based matching (collected with your consent)
- Booking details: game dates, times, locations, pay rates, number of games
- Payment information: subscription and booking fees processed securely by Stripe — BMO does not store full card numbers
- Messages sent between teams and officials on the platform
- Verification documents uploaded voluntarily (e.g., referee certification IDs)
- Device and usage data: device type, OS, browser, pages visited, app interactions
- Push notification tokens (for sending game alerts, if you grant permission)
- SMS opt-in consent status and phone number for SMS notifications
How We Use Your Information
- Operate and improve the BMO platform
- Facilitate bookings between sports teams and game officials
- Match officials to nearby games based on location
- Send booking confirmations, game reminders, and scheduling updates via email and SMS
- Process subscription and per-booking payments through Stripe
- Send push notifications about games and messages (only if you grant permission)
- Respond to support requests and resolve disputes
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
Data Linked to You (App Store Disclosure)
The following data types may be collected and linked to your identity in the BMO app:
- Name and email address — Account management
- Phone number — SMS notifications (with your explicit consent)
- Precise location — Distance-based official matching
- User content — Messages, booking notes, profile photos
- Identifiers — User ID, device identifiers
- Usage data — App interactions and feature use
- Diagnostics — Crash logs and performance data
Data NOT Used to Track You
BMO does not use your data to track you across third-party apps or websites. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Information Sharing
- We do not sell your personal data
- Officials' public profiles (name, sport, location, rate) are visible to teams within the platform
- Booking details are shared only with the relevant team and official participants
- Stripe processes payments — their privacy policy applies to payment data
- Twilio processes SMS delivery — your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for SMS delivery
- Information may be disclosed if required by law or to protect rights and safety
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@bookmyofficial.com. Certain records (e.g., payment records) may be retained as required by law.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Users are encouraged to use strong, unique passwords.
